How to Get Your Guest Post Accepted by Any Major Website
How to get your guest post accepted
There are two steps to getting your guest post accepted:
Step #1: Picking a compelling topic (and headline)
Step #2: Pitching your guest post
…
A compelling guest post topic is both a perfect fit for the site it is being posted on AND relevant to your blog..
Take, for instance, this guest post by Noah Kagan…
http://www.seanogle.com/entrepreneurship/workcation
In it he combines his topic (business development) with the topic of the blog (travel ).
If you leave out the "relevant to your blog" part, you’ll find yourself writing posts that are really popular on the blog you post them but that fail to convert those readers into subscribers of YOUR site (which is the point of this entire process).
So, how do you pick a compelling topic?
Three steps:
Step #1: Make a list of 3 competing blogs (blogs with the same audience as the site you are targeting).
The quickest way to do this is to go to SimilarWeb and enter the name of your target blog.
Next scroll to the bottom until you reach the section labeled "Similar Websites."
Step #2: Find their most popular piece of content using BuzzSumo.
Do a quick search for these websites in BuzzSumo to find their most popular piece of content.
Step 3: Use the directional framework to improve upon their content
Now your job is to analyze that past popular piece of content.
Read the content.
Read the comment section.
And then use the directional framework (which you learned in Module 3) to create an even BETTER piece of content.
More in depth. More thorough.
Answer the questions that readers of that article asked. Go in to more depth on the readers' #1 question. Create a content upgrade that enables them to implement the strategy outlined in your job.
Your mission = create the best piece of content ever written on that topic
