The Close: How to Pitch Your Guest Post
Now you are ready to pitch your post
To pitch your post, first find the correct email address for your proposal.
A few places to look…
- "Contact Us" Page
- Google search “Guest post submission”
- Email current contributing authors for an introduction
When I pitched HubSpot (popular marketing blog) I was not able to find the correct email address, so I sent a proposal through their general feedback form and was sent a reply within 12 hours.

This template has worked wonders for me.
It draws off of the past success of the other articles on similar topics and also SHOWS the quality of your writing up front to the person you are pitching.
This is extremely important in the early stages of building your list. Later on when you are more established, you can simply point to articles you've written on popular websites to vouch for the quality of your work.
However, at this stage, it's important to show your work ahead of time to alleviate any concerns or questions.
