Now it’s time to publish that answer as a blog post and send an email to your list telling them about it.

It’s important to train your list to be active. Getting them to click, share, comment and generally engage with you is something you should absolutely get your audience in the habit of doing. The last thing you want is a giant list of people who don’t take action when you want them to!

How do you train your list to be active?

Start early. Give them things to do. Regularly ask them to do small actions for you. Something as simple as asking them to click a link in an email to read the rest of your post goes a long ways.

In the first email to your list, you need to do two things:

Thing #1: Tell them about your new post while asking them to click a link to read it

Thing #2: Ask them to share your blog post with one friend via a "click to tweet" link in your email
