How to Get Traffic to Your Blog Post
You have now optimized the 4 most visited pages on your website:
- Your homepage (i.e. upside-down homepage)
- Your 3 most popular blog posts (i.e. content upgrades)
AND you've just learned how to create world-class content with the directional framework.
But none of that does you any good if you don’t have actual people visiting those pages.
So how do you get people to come?
There are two approaches:
Approach #1: Field of Dreams Method
In the movie Field Of Dreams, the main character (played by Kevin Costner) coins the phrase “If you build it, they will come...”
...and in that movie, they came.
But that was fiction.
Real life doesn’t work like that. That’s why the internet is littered with abandoned websites and iTunes is full of developers who never made a dime from their apps.
In real life you have to hustle to get people to your website.
In real life you have to spend just as much time promoting your work as you do creating it.
Enter approach #2:
Approach #2: The Paul Revere Method
Raise your hand if you know who Paul Revere is.
I’ll give you the short version of his story...
On April 18, 1775 Paul Revere was sent to warn Samuel Adams, John Hancock and all residents of Lexington, MA that British soldiers were en route to imprison them.
Put yourself in Paul's shoes for a minute.
It’s 1775.
You’ve been hired to warn 2 of the founding fathers and hundreds of innocent civilians that they are about to be taken captive by a whole bunch of guys in red coats.
What would you do?
There is no email. No texting. No phones.
Mailing them a letter isn’t an option as the troops will be there the next day.
So what do you do?
You get on your horse and ride as fast as possible.
And that’s exactly what Paul did.
He rode as fast as he could for 15 miles to Lexington warning every person, one by one, that the British were coming.
He did this house by house. One person at a time.
No secret techniques. No special technology.
Just Paul and his horse.
How to get traffic to your website like Paul Revere
And that’s exactly how you are going to get traffic to your website.
Even today, with 10,000+ email subscribers, there are two things I do every time I publish a new piece of content in order to make sure it reaches new people.
- Vacuum formula
- Link signals outreach
I’m going to teach you how to use both of these to get fresh and eager eyeballs to every piece of content you write, so you can start growing your email list.
