Get your very first email subscriber
Now it's time to get your first subscriber.
Most people spend way too much time on stuff that doesn't grow their lists. But the truth is your list doesn't start until you have your very FIRST subscriber.
We're going to do that right now.
If you feel like you don't need to do this, you're kidding yourself.
It only gets harder. If you can't muster up the courage to ask a friend or family member to join your list, what makes you think you can get 10,000 utter strangers to join?
It is intimidating, I understand. But the feeling of getting your first subscriber is incredible.
Here are a few scripts you can use:
1. Email this to a friend:
Hey [friend's name],
This is [your first name]. I'm starting a weekly newsletter. I think it would be right up your alley.
Want me to put you on the list for when it comes out?
-[your name]
2. Text this to a family member:
Hey, I'm starting a new weekly newsletter. I think you would really enjoy it.
Want me to send it to you?
3. Call your mom and say this:
Mom, this is your [son or daughter]. I'm starting a newsletter. I think you'd really like it. What email address would be best for me to use to add you to it?
