Link Signals 101
The vacuum formula works off a very basic principle…
Relevancy.
If someone has previously signaled that they are interested in a specific topic, then the chances of them sharing another article on that same topic is very high.
Your job is to keep your ears open for these signals and use them as prompts to recommend your content to those people.
In addition to Twitter shares, there is another signal that is a prime indicator of relevancy.
Links.
When someone links to an article, it is a strong indicator that their audience is interested in the topic that the author is linking to.
Take, for example, this article.
http://www.creativebloq.com/graphic-design/pro-guide-logo-design-21221
Over 180 other websites are linking to this article.
That tells us that all 180 of those websites are prime candidates to link to and share any article on this topic.
(Remember: Any time someone links to or shares your article, you get more email subscribers.)
So your job is to tell them about your article and ask for a link.
Make sense?
