How to Incentivize the Laggards
There is one last thing you need to MAKE SURE you do in order to bring in the most subscribers: incentivize the laggards.
The laggards are all of the people who know they have a low chance of winning and, as a result, are not motivated to share the giveaway with their friends.
One strategy you need to use to encourage them to share is to offer a secondary prize.
The secondary prize will be given to anyone who meets a certain sharing threshold (unlike the main prize, which is given to only 1 winner).
I recommend keeping the secondary prize to a fixed cost item that you can create once and give away an unlimited number of times at no additional cost.
Here are a few ideas for secondary prizes you could use to incentivize your laggards:
- Copy of your eBook (collection of your best blog posts)
- Resource guide
- Training material
- Extended trial to a relevant software program
This prize should only be made available to people who have entered your giveaway.
Email all contestants 36 hours before the close of the giveaway, announcing your secondary giveaway.
