Setting Up Your Email Service Provider

Alright...focus!

Your new #1 goal in life is to grow your email list from 100 to 1,000 subscribers. This usually takes around 90 days to do (give or take a bit, depending on your skill level and ability to stay focused).

Up to this point you’ve been a rock star!

You’ve cobbled together your first 100 subscribers through straight-up hustle and being scrappy. Good work!

Now it’s time to do a few housekeeping things to prep for the jump to 1,000.

First off, you need to set up your email service provider.

Quick crash course…

An email service provider helps you manage your email list.

When you’re sending a handful of emails to friends you can rely on a regular email service like Gmail or Outlook. But as your list grows to 100+ folks you’ll need something more robust: something that manages the list, gets your email delivered, respects ICAN mass email laws and makes your life better.

An email service provider (or ESP for short) does this for you.

It allows you to easily build your email list (no more taking names down on paper) and then to quickly send an email to your entire list, no matter how many people are on it.

There are TONS of ESPs out there. Two of the most popular are MailChimp and AWeber.

However, the one I recommend you use is ConvertKit.

ConvertKit is an email service provider for professional bloggers. The guy behind the app is Nathan Barry. He has a great team and has built the platform from the ground up to specifically help people like you and me grow our lists.

Note: If your list is over 25,000 subscribers I recommend trying out Infusionsoft first. But if you are below 25,000 then don’t spend another second thinking about which one to use. Go sign up for ConvertKit now.

In fact, I talked with Nathan and he threw in a free 30-day trial for all 10ksubs members.

Just follow this link to get the free trial!

Once you have your account configured (the video below will walk you through that), then in the next lesson we’ll enter the 100 email subscribers you got in Module 2.

Jeff will walk you through setting up your ConvertKit account:
